MagMats™ were developed to alert carers by a radio link to a pager receiver when vulnerable individuals leave the safety of a building. The field from a magnet, placed discretely inside the shoe, is detected by a foil mat placed under a carpet. The magnet is similar in size to an aspirin and is inserted into the heel, toe or instep of a shoe to enable the system to respond to that individual. This system has the advantage of being activated only by the individuals wearing shoes fitted with a magnet. Those without a magnet placed in the shoe will not activate the alarm.

One advantage of the system is that the magnets are very inexpensive and additional magnets can be obtained either from us or external suppliers. The system has a very low power consumption and no mains power is required.
Systems for a single exit can be ordered online and multiple exit versions are available on request.

This system is available with either the standalone pager (Setup 2) or the pager call system (Setup 3). We can also provide it for call systems in special cases.
